38 weeks and counting...

When my doctor told me that I was already at a 2 and showing multiple other signs of prelabor last week I went into a panic mode. In no way was I ready for Mia to come. I went home and started washing everything-all of her little clothes, blankets, towels, and sheets. My friend Marni came in town to help me buy all of the last minute items and necessities that would help me get through the first couple of weeks. I felt much more prepared after her visit and spent that night playing with all the new stuff. The next day, I found myself cleaning...possibly nesting. After cleaning the outside windows of our house and sweeping the sidewalk, I decided that I should probably start putting up the Christmas decorations just in case. So yes, I broke the "wait till after Thanksgiving" rule. When I ran out of decorations, I started baking. As I hustled around the house the whole day being oh so productive, Kelsey remained at the table studying for his pilots exam without noticing the major progress I was making. He was in his zone and I was in mine. That night, I went to bed knowing that if Mia were to arrive the next day, it would be OK.

PUPPPS?!

Posted by Picasa Kelsey and I went to the doctor today and discovered that my extremely itchy stomach could be more than just that. I could have PUPPPS which is a condition that affects 1% of pregnant woman and even though it is harmless-it is not painless. My belly is so itchy that I will get up 2 or 3 times in the middle of the night just to put more oil on it! I really try to not touch it at all, but at night it gets really bad. I even put a bag of ice on it Friday night! So in a way, I am glad to hear that it is not normal because no one should experience this and PUPPPS typically only occurs in first time moms or moms carrying multiples. Cute name but very annoying.

Blogging for Beginners

I must admit that I have never been intrigued with bloggers, myspacers, and my addicted facebooking friends. However, with a baby due any day now, I realize that I need an easy way to share pictures and keep our friends and family updated on the latest. So I am going to give the whole blogging thing a try. I might even get crazy a send a text out when Mia is born-but don't hold your breath! One new thing at a time.
